The Golden Artist Colours GAC800 is a pouring medium for fluid acrylic painting  that reduces crazing in puddles, pours, and other thin pourable paint applications. "Crazing" is the formation of crevices in surfaces that develop as acrylic paints and mediums dry. The addition of GAC800 promotes drying with a smooth, even film, good gloss and flexibility, but with moderate clarity.

For pouring use in conjunction with Goldens High Flow acrylics, Golden Fluid Acrylics or Acrylics Inks

The best painting surface for acrylic pouring is a Primed Panel. This surface is less affected by the weight of the wet product compared to stretched canvas. The panel needs to be resistant to warping from water, so sealing the surface with one or more coats of Goldens GAC100 or any acrylic primer is best.

Ideally start around 10 parts GAC800 to one part Fluid Acrylic, then mix and store the paint overnight in a sealed container.

This allows the bubbles incurred during mixing to rise and pop, resulting in clean pours with sharp edges. These mixtures produce clear colour edges. Solid colour pours can be used over an entire canvas.

Acrylic pours are relatively slow drying paint layers and will continue to develop as they dry, dust and other items can easily become imbedded into the film. So avoid painting outside and properly prepare your workspace. Next, be sure the table top or floor you are working on is also clean and level. Even slight angles can cause issues with pours.

Put down plastic sheeting to catch excess paint and control the temperature level in the studio as much as possible, dont try to speed up drying time. Dry climates increase the chance of crazes developing resulting from liquid acrylic products skinning over during initial drying while the underlying liquid paint is still very fresh.
