What is carbon paper used for?

Carbon tracing paper allows you to transfer designs to any surface. They can be used for watercolour painting, fabric painting, fine art, graphic arts and more.


How to use carbon tracing paper

Place a sheet of tracing paper over the drawing/image you want to trace. Then trace the original image onto the tracing paper, making sure you carefully follow the lines. Remove the tracing paper. 


Place your carbon transfer paper onto your new medium. Then begin to trace over the carbon paper again, applying pressure. Remove the carbon paper and voila! Your design has been transferred.


You can also find inkjet compatible carbon transfer tracing paper, which enables you to print your design onto the paper. Which you can then transfer later onto another surface.
