Gloss Varnish

Gloss varnish is popular amongst artists as the formula is non-yellowing, water-resistant, resists discolouration and is durable once dry. If you’re hoping to achieve colour vibrancy, definition of detail and a glossy sheen, our gloss varnish is the perfect choice for you!

Gloss varnish is very versatile and can be mixed with art mediums to change the characteristics and achieve unique effects. Ideal for working on acrylic paint and oil paint artworks. For a high gloss finish, simply apply more coats with a paint brush or spray!

How do you use acrylic gloss varnish?

You can choose between using gloss varnish spray or liquid varnish to protect the paint surface. If using a spray, shake the can and apply in even thin layers. If using liquid varnish, dip your brush into the formula and work quickly to apply long, even strokes to cover the surface. For an enhanced glossy sheen, wait for the gloss to dry completely and apply more.

Should I varnish my acrylic painting?

If you want to enhance the lifetime of your artwork, it is essential that you varnish your surface. This will protect it from harsh elements, UV light damage, dust and yellowing.

How many coats of varnish do you need?

For a durable and glossy finish, we recommend applying at least 1 to 2 coats of varnish to your surface. If you want to achieve a high gloss sheen, you can apply 2 to 3 coats.
