What is relief printing?

Relief printing is an artistic method that involves applying ink to a block or  plate (that’s been carved or cut out), which you then press down onto a surface (such as paper) to create a print. You can create stamps, cards and more – the possibilities are endless!

What are the materials to use for relief printing?

It can be created using an array of different materials. These include wood, linoleum, rubber blocks, artist ink and more. We have a great variety of supplies to help you, so get creative with it and see what you can print.

How do I print with relief?

There are a variety of ways you can print with relief and it can be a very simple process!

First of all, we recommend sketching your design on paper and then transferring it to a transparent paper. Then, paste the paper to a woodblock and apply your chosen ink to the block. Next, place your block onto the page and press down. Lastly, peel the paper off and voila you have a new print!
