Gamblin PVA Size

Gamblin PVA Size effectively seals the porous fibers of fabric, wood or paper, protecting them from acid and ensuring an archival surface. Ideal for raw canvas or linen, it should be applied before Oil Ground or oil colors. Unlike traditional rabbit skin glue, this neutral pH, animal-free formula remains stable without swelling or shrinking, maintaining flexibility without yellowing or releasing harmful fumes. While it’s perfect for sizing, it’s not an adhesive—use a dedicated glue for attaching fabric or paper to panels. Choose Gamblin PVA Size for a reliable, long-lasting foundation in your artwork.

• Use any style of brush to scrub PVA Size into your canvas. You can apply PVA Size before or after stretching. 
• Gamblin PVA Size can be used as a sealant for paper. The appearance of most papers are changed very little once the PVA Size is completely dry.
• PVA Size can be used on its own as your ground without the use of a white or colored primer over the size, however; for this an additional coat of PVA Size is reccomended
